New Lower Ticket Prices for Peter Pan and Dirty Work!

With the struggling economy, everyone is having a hard time. But we still want you to be able to enjoy live theatre here in Midcoast Maine. To make that easier we have reduced our ticket prices for the remainder of the 2011 season. Adult tickets are $14.00, senior and student tickets are $12.00 and children, 12 years and under may attend for $10.00. If you come with a group of 10 or more we will deduct an additional dollar off of each ticket, so make it a date with friends. See you at the theatre!

AUDITIONS for

“Dirty Work at the Crossroads”

a Classic 1890’s Melodrama

August 22, 23

6:30 pm

Watts Hall, Thomaston

Looking for over the top, ham actors for the following (speaking only) roles:

3 men- a hero, a villain and a comedic sidekick

6 women- a heroine, an elderly mother, a woman of questionable repute, a society matron, her headstrong daughter, their French maid

1 young girl-Little Nell, who has never known her father

Persons with other talents (song, dance, recitation, etc.) are encouraged to audition for olios- short entertainments to occur between acts- similar to vaudeville.

Performance dates: Oct. 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16

2012 Already?

Camden Civic Theatre’s 2011 season is in full swing. The rehearsal hall is echoing with the sounds of pirate dueling and lost boys’ antics in Neverland. Meanwhile, pre-production for melodramatic villiany is picking up stream as the train readies at the platform before heading to the crossroads. But the journey won’t end there! Time to start making plans for the next great adventure!

The CCT board is already preparing for our 2012 season. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the fun, please contact Kate Fletcher ( yaddo3@yahoo.com ) about joining our board of directors. Election of new board members occurs at our annual meeting, scheduled this year for Saturday, Sept. 17^th.

Really want to be in the thick of things? Have an inclination to direct? At our annual meeting the membership also votes on the slate of shows for the coming season. The CCT board currently seeks play submissions to be considered for the 2012 season. Find a copy of our suggested play submission form under the heading “about” on this website . We must have submissions by August 12^th in order to meet the by-laws deadline of announcing plays up for a vote at least 30 days before the annual meeting.

CCT Committees

Every production takes a whole team of people to make it come to fruition. And CCT as an organization needs help getting all that work done. We always love to see actors and directors come through the door, but even more we love to find folks who enjoy the technical, productions and house aspects of a life in the theater. We have the following committees that need support from our community:

Technical Committee– If you’ve always wondered “how did they do that?” you can learn a lot about making the effects of a show happen. Or if you have experience or training and would like to put it to good use in a fun atmosphere, we can use your help. Lighting, sound, costumes, props, make-up, set design/building, there are so many ways to make the magic happen. What are you most interested in?
Play Selection/Directors Committee– If you have opinions or ideas about the plays we should or could be producing, this is your opportunity to have a share in shaping our season.
Publicity Committee–We need to get the word out so we have audiences enjoy the fruits of our efforts.

Camden Civic Theatre to Present Romeo & Juliet, Quilters, Peter Pan and Dirty Work; New Board Members Announced

Camden Civic Theatre is proud to announce the 2011 season slate of performances. On October 9th, with twice the number of participants as 2009, the membership of CCT elected to present four plays next season: Romeo and Juliet, under the direction of Kate Fletcher, will be presented in April; Quilters, under the direction of Mim Bird, will be presented in July; Peter Pan, under the direction of Scott Anthony Smith, will be presented in August; and Dirty Work At The Crossroads, under the direction of Tiare Messing, will be presented in October.
