The 3rd Annual CCT Dessert Soiree will be held on Saturday, February 16th, desserts open at 6:30pm and entertainment beginning at 7:00pm. There is a suggested donation of $10. We’d like to make our open house soiree a fundraiser for CCT this year by having live music by musicians/vocalists throughout the evening.

Auditions for “The Lion in Winter”

Auditions for “The Lion in Winter” will be held on the third floor of the historic Camden Opera House on March 4th and 5th (Monday and Tuesday) starting at 6:30 p.m. and running until 8:30 p.m. It will be a ‘cold read’ but if you want to get an idea of the dialogue and the flow of the play, it is carried by most libraries and an excellent film version is on DVD starring Katherine Hepburn. Open Auditions for Dessert Soiree

Camden Civic Theatre is hosting its 3rd Annual Dessert Soiree this year with a little twist.

We’d like to make our open house soiree a fundraiser for CCT by having live music and performances by musicians/vocalists throughout the evening.

The 3rd Annual CCT Dessert Soiree will be held on Saturday, February 16th, desserts open at 6:30pm and entertainment beginning at 7:00pm.

We’re looking for soloists, duets, instrumentals, etc. related to musicals and/or Broadway. These are open auditions. There may or may not be an accompanist available to you during auditions, so come prepared accordingly. The number or numbers you sing should be the ones you would perform if selected for the soiree. We are going to limit an individual performer to two songs should both be chosen, but plan to audition with two if you wish. This will be Valentine’s weekend, so love songs would definitely be great to have!

Auditions will be held Saturday, January 19th, from 1:00-3:00pm on the 3rd floor of the Camden Opera House. We will look into holding a rehearsal or two before the event to run the show numbers. Should you have any other questions, email Scott at ssmith@theaceoftrades.com

Singers Needed Thanksgiving Weekend

Singers needed for a Victorian Christmas at the Talbot Home, 73 Talbot Ave Rockland, as part of the Festival of Lights. It will be Saturday, Nov 24 from 1-4pm. Carols will be common holiday songs that everyone knows.

Singers are to meet at the CCT Costume loft at 12pm (Quilt Divas parking lot, across from The Brown Bag in Rockland) for some festive attire. Should you have anything in your own collection that is Victorian-era that you could bring, please feel free! This event is sponsored by CCT. Dear Friends and fellow C.C.T. Members past and present,

Greetings and felicitations, I hope you are all well and that you have enjoyed a glorious Summer and will enjoy a wonderful Fall. I am writing you in order to invite you to the annual Camden Civic Theatre Membership and Voting Meeting that will be held on October 27th, 2012 on the third floor of the Camden Opera House at 10:00 a.m.

At this meeting we will be voting for our 2013 slate of officers and our 2013 Season. All are invited to attend and partake of good food (Pot Luck provided by the Board) and fellowship (provided by those in attendance). Only Members in good standing (Paid up) will be allowed to vote on the new slate of officers and the 2013 Season. Nominations are allowed from the floor if you so desire.

As Camden Civic Theatre normally produces at least three shows a year that still leaves the Fall slot open.

If you wish to vote you may send your membership dues to our post office box at: Camden Civic Theatre, P.O.Box 362, Camden, Maine 04843-0362 or you may make your dues payment at the meeting. Individual memberships are $15.00 per year, Family memberships are $25.00 per year.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you that C.C.T. is producing The Bad Seed, directed by C.C.T. veterans Lois Levensaler and Mary Lou Curtis. It will be performed at Watt’s Hall in Thomaston on October 18th, 19th and 20th and has, if I may say, one of the strongest casts I’ve seen in years. A real thrill ride and a must see if you love the theater.
